About EJD
I am Eleanor of Eleanor Jewellery Design.
The decision to use my name to represent the jewellery I create originated when I was engaged to be married and having always had a strong sense of self it felt very strange to be losing my maiden name. Each piece of jewellery in the original collection was named after a loved family member or friend and I am proud to know and be part of a group of such strong women.
From designing each piece of EJD jewellery, to making, polishing, packing and shipping I love every part of the process and pride myself on ensuring you will love the end result too. I‘m Manchester based, I always have been and I can’t see that changing anytime soon. I love Manchester, the mix of old and new, premium, high street and back street gems. It has been the inspiration for the simple luxury of Eleanor Jewellery Design.

Eleanor Jewellery Design combines luxury style and design for the modern ethically conscious customer. Each sustainable collection is focused on complementing the wearers individual style.

Whilst my ethical commitments are a priority Eleanor Jewellery Design is a luxury jewellery business and find an equilibrium by providing a high end aesthetic and gift wrapped service for all orders with packaging not only being recyclable but recycled where possible. You can enjoy the indulgent service whilst achieving ever important sustainability goals.

All pieces are created using recycled silver and recycled 18 carat gold. I choose to use recycled silver and gold to minimise waste and excess production within the jewellery industry. Please note some small elements such as necklace chains and earring posts and backs are made using non recycled sterling silver. All jewellery and packaging supplies support small businesses where possible. I am avidly aware of the changing world around us and the impact that we have on a daily basis and therefore make all of my material and packaging decisions based not only on the feeling of opening a luxury item and the thrill that such a moment brings, but on doing so ethically.
Your jewellery arrives in a 100% compostable mailing bag. The bag is made from plant based materials and follows strict composting laws, meaning you can compost the bags your self at home if preferred and they will leave no harmful residues behind. The postage boxes are made from recycled materials, are recyclable and the ink used is made from vegetable extracts. Eleanor Jewellery Design tissue paper is FSC certified, meaning that the supply chain is managed responsibly and sustainably, the paper is acid free and uses soy based inks. All jewellery boxes provided are made from recycled materials and are recyclable. The handmade Eleanor Jewellery Design dust pouch provided is cotton and made to be reused again and again.
